As for debate. Jacob is very selfish. This is what I was thinking again while watching movie. So he is in love in Bella now and he wants Bella to dump Edward. But in the same time he also should know he will imprint on somebody one day and will leave Bella for the new girl. That is very selfish. Also he is a great manipulator and I don't like it either.

WHAT? Lazzy, how can you say that....OMJ my points proved that Jacob is none of those things, or at least not as bad as you all seem to think he is....

I watched Eclipse last night again and everytime i watch it it just makes me hate Edward even more.

he is too selfish tenny! he KNOWS that he could imprint on a girl at any time!!! but he still wants bella to ignore that and to leave edward for him.

If you remember in the book he said he didnt think he would imprint anyway....So he really did love Bella....

the fact he said he didn't think he would imprint doesn't make it true. I mean, he can't know the future. They don't know when they imprint. They just can pass by and it's one click and you're imprinted on somebody and forget about what you loved before. He would dump Bella when he would imprint. And how Bella could feel? One day they think they are in love and the other thing they run after their true love which is "imprints".

Yes, i know that, but Jacob truly believed that he would imprint, therefor i say go for gold. Jacob is teaching kids not to ever give up on what they want because if it is worth it, and clearly he thought Bella was worth it, then you should go for it. I think that is a good life lesson. It works for me all the time.

Jacob did love Bella, and sure, he could have imprinted, but as readers we know he wouldnt have imprinted if he and Bella got toogether anyway, so that makes it even more awesome to me.....LOL!

yes, maybe he loved Bella. I actually don't doubt about it. But he would forget this love when they imprint. He can't know that. But he should understand it's possible he would leave her anyway. So why would he want Bella to stay with him if he can't be sure he will stay with her forever? So right now he is thinking about what he wants now, in this moment. That is very selfish

Maybe he would imprint on somebody else? We as readers know. But he didn't know. He couldn't know he would imprint on Bella's daughter

But the fact that he didnt think he would imprint, since he believed it was some myth, and that it hardly ever happened fuled him on further, and i dont think there is anything wrong with that. He loved Bella and he wanted her, and he did everything he could to make sure that she admitted she had feelings for him as well.

You all sit there and say all this stuff about Jacob, but what about Edward, he is a coniving and manipulatlive, hypocrite....Firstly, when he stopped Bella from seeing Jacob by making sure her car didnt work. That is wrong. His entire reason being that Jacob was dangerous because of the phasing, but what about when Edward was stalking Bella, sneaking into her room to watch her sleep, did he not think that was dangerous when her blood sang to him. That is more dangerous really, and he never once admitted that, and Bella the idiot should have called him out on that.

Bella i hate even more, in Twilight Edward says he killed people before, and Bella was all - i dont care. But in New Moon when she ASSUMED it was Jake killing them hikers in the woods and stuff she was all - It is wrong....And he wasnt even doing anything. I really hate that girl.

Well I also think it was wrong for Edward to break the car. I will not deny hehe I was very scared from that part in the book. But when he was watching Bella he was in control of himself. While warewolfs can lose when they are angry. Just like it happened with Sam when he couldn't control himself. Besides Edward wanted to protect her cause he didn;t know Jacob that well, he didn't trust him. That is pretty human actually if you love somebody. But in tent (I can't remember if he said that in book as well) he said that he knows Jake can protect Bella so he started to trust more in Jake as well, I think.

Yes, but the imprint thing, in Jacob's head is the same thing, i can sit here and say, i will never end up in a car accident, it wont happen to me, and i do believe that, so i relate to the way he was thinking.

I get that Edward was trying to protect Bella, and he would have seen what happened with Sam, but if Troy was trying to deny me seeing my friend, even if he was a shapeshifter, i would dump him, you just cant do that, especially when vampires are just as dangerous, look what happened with Jasper.

you don't think you're going to get in a car crash before it happens. the people on 9/11 didn't think they were going to die because they got in a building or a plane. tiger woods's wife didn't think that he'd cheat on her when they got married. but all of those things DID and DO happen. just because you don't THINK something will happen doesn't take away the chance that it really might happen. and jake KNEW that. the legends might say that it's rare but it was happening to EVERYONE. how rare could it be?! but he still decided what HE wanted was more important than what anyone else wanted... so his selfish and childish behavior make me really really not like him.

I think i would have been the same as Jacob though. Just because there is a CHANCE something may happen dont mean that it will, simple as that, and what is the point of putting your happiness on the backburner for something that may NEVER happen. There is no point.

But Bella would have been happy with Jacob anyway, therefor Edward would be the only one who would be hurt, and he would just let Bella go anyway, which i think is WRONG, why wouldnt he try and get her to stay, if he really loved her he would want her not to leave if she did choose Jacob in the end. That is dumb and really annoys me.

Psh, i love Troy, but if he fell in love with someone else i would fight my donkey-butt off for him. Simple as that. So if it is ok for Edward to be all noble and old and give Bella to Jacob if that is what she wanted, then why isnt it ok for Jacob to try and chase Bella regardless of a myth that he DIDNT think would happen anyway.
