Hey guys, great news! The Host is on its way to the big screen:

I'm so excited to be working with Nick Weschler, and Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz to bring The Host to a visual format. They've all been a dream to work with, so lovely and collaborative, and I feel like we're in a really good place to make a great movie together. And then to have Andrew Niccol writing and directing? Truly awesome. If you've never seen Gattaca, go watch it now. One of my favorite movies of all time. It's such a great example of character driven science fiction, which is ideal for The Host, no? I'm having an absolute blast imagining different dream casts, which I would post if people didn't take my silly blogs so seriously these days. I'm looking forward to seeing the cast lists you come up with in the fansite forums, and if any of them match mine.

So, very exciting. Yay Host!

YAY! i love the host! and the only person in that movie that i've ever really pictured as an actress is Melanie... and i've always pictured her looking kind of like Odette Yustman

Its really different from Twilight but I enjoyed it.

Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away.

I am still thinking if to read The Host if I find it. I want to find a book I would love to read.

it's pretty good lazzy. not amazing. but it's GOOD. the first half is kind of dull, but about halfway through it gets really good and exciting. and ian is sexy, not going to lie.

you just have to stick it out! LOL! the beginning's weird and pretty confusing. but about halfway through you don't want to put it down! haha i read it on the bus ride to washington last year. shandra told me that the best way to read it is when it's your only form of entertainment. and she was right lol

Thats what I'm gonna do but the thing is my only transport is a 30 min train in the mornings so it would mean reading it in lots of bits :/

I've read 2 or 3 chapters yesterday and I didn't understand a there's no action at all. But some weird almost non sense

LOL Laz, see this is why I can't force myself to start The Host. I have this awful feeling I'm gonna really hate it.

I have this feeling every time I am looking for something to read. Cause as you know I am slow reader so it can fed up fast for me. I would start thinking it's waste of time. So this is why I ask friends for suggestions for the books. If Mary liked it, then I think I also would like that...

Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming.... What do we do? We swim, swim the same about reading The Host lol

I love the swimming! Tis a shame really that I can't actually swim LOL! But I take your point on board. I think I'll have to force myself to atleast start the book. Me and cousin are mind-twins, so if she found something to like in it, I'm sure I will too.

difference cousin, difference! i'm a great swimmer! my grandma made me take swimming lessons every summer for 10 years after i almost drowned in disney world!

and the host is terrible and boring as hell until umm..... until melanie and wanderer go looking for the mountain thing? hahaha i don't want to give anything away. but it's not supposed to make sense i don't think. it wasn't a GREAT book, but it wasn't terrible, by any means.

Yay for differences! When we finally live in our Cullenate mansion, you have to teach me and Laz how to swim in our huge Olympic sized pool!

i haven't read it in about a year lazzy. and it's worth the read for sure. i LIKED it. it just wasn't AMAZING. but ummm if i REMEMBER correctly like 8? i'm not sure though.
