Thats kinda true actually cousin! Though my hairs different now. Shorter and straight. I'll post all the pics from the summer ball on here, which is like prom but for university. So we're all gonna be glammed up. And I'm going out on Friday next week for my mates 21st so those pics will look more like me now as I stand. Actually I think I have one on my PC....

Thanks cousin. It takes me about 30mins to straighten it when its that long. I haven't had a haircut in like 6 months because I haven't been back home. This time I'm going shorter, like chin length-y, and straight, and it'll only take like 10-15 mins to style. I never used to be able to make my hair straight, but then I bought some awesome serum and I invested in some really expensive straighteners (i.e. begged my mum for them for christmas!!) and it works. Right this second my hairs curly though because I haven't got time to straighten it during revision.

You guys are all so lucky. You have prom and summer balls and stuff, I don't have anything like that here. I guess I probably wouldn't go, but anyway, I could be fun to have.

yeah we also don't have probs and any balls like those the only thing we had in school was disco evenings sometimes lol oh, and talent shows.

we had prom in yr 11 (thats age 16 for you Americans), then a boat party which is like senior prom at 18. And then at uni theres like 4 balls a year every year, with the summer ball being the big one. Tickets were like 65 quid, which is over 100 dollars!! Not to mention the dress and shit. Frucken expensive but I didn't wanna graduate without going atleast once.

is it obligated to have these balls/ proms every year? Is school/ uni is obligated to organize them?

Yeah, we had a talent show a few days ago. It was nice to see people who can't sing singing. I'm going next year. I'll be singing some song while a friend plays the piano. I don't think he's in the pics I posted. I'll find one for you guys to see if you want. We still have to think what we are going to sing.

most high schools here have prom your junior and senior years... and you can go when your younger as long as you were einvited my an upperclassmen.

ummm well not obligated per se, just tradition. The summer ball is an institution - all UK universities have one every year. They've been going on for so many decades now. And the uni doesn't really organise it, the students union does, and thats run by students, but with the uni's money.
And prom is up to the high school over here because we're not America lol. Some high schools decide to mimic it, and others don't.
The Boat Party was unique to my high school, and they'd been having them since before my brother was there...

I think those kind of things is really nice. Kind a special

yeah its a nice opportunity to get dolled up.
I'm really excited for the Summer Ball actually. Its goes on till like 6am, in the grassy quads of my uni's main building, which is like this:




One of the quads has like rides and candy floss like a funfair, and the other quad has live bands playing - normally shit ones at my uni lol. We did once have Radiohead though ages before I joined RHUL.

And it'll be a chance to say goodbye to everyone. I'm not gonna keep in touch with most of them so...

I still think it's unfair. I want one of those too.
