- the souls are a type of alien i believe. they're like pretty leeches or something. they get inserted into their hosts brain and take over all of their funtions. the beginning is wanderer being put into her host melanie's brain, i THINK. the souls have taken over a LOT of planets but humans give them the most trouble, and a lot of adult humans are able to communicate with their soul. so they stop using adults. melanie is particularly strong willed and can even take over wanderer sometimes... haha i hope that helps a LITTLE.
