LOL. I guess I'll start a topic. Nobody dared to post a non-fiction book topic. I'm not sure if I'd have something to say, either. I am more of a fiction-lover. But, I love reading Psychology books. Those that talk about behavior & the nervous system. Like learning about the difference of what happens when your Broca's Area is damaged & if it's the Wernicke's Area.

I have a fascination on these subject, all because of Edward Cullen. From what I remember, the Wernicke's Area is for language skills. Talking about nonsense. Incoherency (very much like me whenever I think of Edward). Or you know what youwant to say, but it comes out differently or just a bunch of grunts & garbled words.

For Broca's Area is the inability to speak properly, or the inability to produce any words or phrases (that is also me whenever I think of Edward. I can't speak properly). It may also mean the inability to understand an action or a word. Hmmm... more like misinterpretation amplified.

I lose all train of thought & I forget how to speak. All because of Edward Cullen.

I love history books. My favorites are probably 1776 by David McCollough (i KNOW i spelled that wrong) and the Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx. SOOOOOO interesting.

Oooh, Karl Marx. I'm intrigued & I'll probably read about him next. And Immanuel Kant.

I find psychology fascinating, especially psychological disorders. I'm reading about DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder). I find it amazing. xD

I love reading books about Austria. I seriously am in love with that country. xD It's one of my goals to visit someday, and possible live there. Who knows? 8D It's gorgeous, and I love it to bits.

Keep reading Psych stuff RaiRai! I have to promote psychology because it is famazing and fawesomely interesting.

Most of my non fiction reading is for my course, so I read a LOT of science journals. Like an insane amount. And biochem textbooks.

I love reading the newest neurosci journals now. Just to see the advances and stuff. Yeah I'm a science geek Razz

Thats totally why I didn't major in history. I took it all the way through school and college but I couldn't see a career out of it. Plus when I was doing my A levels, I got my head of year as a history teacher and this guy personally hated me and the feeling was MORE than mutual. Sitting in his class used to make me physically nauseous. So I had to quit it early.
Glad I did though because science is my true calling. I totally see that now and I couldn't imagine doing anything else with my life. Even though I know that research scientists make NO money whatsoever. I'm gonna be living on the equivalent of $24K a year for the next 4 years. And out of that comes rent, food and travel :S

The way I figure it is you can't do something you're not passionate about when you finish your education at whatever level so I AM doing a history major and I will make money out of it just not as much as my mother would like to think I can earn... When I'm done I can be an Archivist for the government, I can publish papers, I can work in libraries, I can work in schools I can do quite alot really so I'm sticking with what I love...
