Come up..... reports of Day 1.

One of my friends , Trixie, she of the fabulously hot videos, went down to the Remeber Me Set and here is her report:

THAT WAS JUST UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

They just broke for lunch so everything was going to be shut down for at least an hour. Good time to head back to the office, I guess.

I should have left an hour ago, but I couldn't tear myself away. I mean, HE
WAS RIGHT THERE! Just across a narrow one way street. RIGHT
there. I could see his eyes! I could hear his VOICE! Couldn't fully make
out the dialogue, but could hear him.

HOLY HELL!

Anyway, the crowd was very respectful, not unruly at all. People were spread
out a bit so there was plenty of room to maneuver.

I watched Rob do at least 5 takes of a scene where he is chatting with his
"side kick" and then walks away by himself. Ciggie in mouth (heaven help
me). I seriously don't know how he does it. Keeps his focus and does his
job while he knows that all of us gawkers are there just to stare at him.
Truly amazing.

When I first got there, they were shooting an earlier part of the same scene
where he is walking and talking with the "sidekick". They did a few takes
and then he went back into the building as they set up for the next shot.
Well, his entrance to the building was not being protected and a bunch of
girls ran up to him and tried to talk to him and get his autograph. Totally
RUDE. They guy is WORKING! Anyway, he was having no part of it.

When he was walking around between takes, he had 4 big guys around him at
all times.

Anyway, I'll NEVER EVER forget this day. EVER!

I'm still in complete and total shock. I can't believe it was that EASY to
see him and to get that close.

I have to say.... maybe they has learned from this day to have more security for Rob and maybe some borders around the filming set if he can get mobbed by fans like that.

Robert Pattinson Attacked

I'll bet Robert Pattinson wished he had Eward Cullen's vampy super speed this afternoon when he was leaving the set of his non-sparklegasm movie "Remember Me" in NYC. See, some overzealous fans got a little too close to Rob and security had to step in.

But no guard is quicker than an infatuated fan and before the burly men could attend to Robert, one fan boa constricted herself around his neck, while another -- toting a "Twilight" tote -- laid in Robert's path so she could snap a candid shot of the actor. Incidentally, he was giving us his best smile through the terror face.

Reminds me of that scene from "Muppet's Take Manhattan" where Animal and Camilla attack shady Broadway producer Martin Price!

Robert Pattinson's new movie, which is tentatively titled Remember Me, began filming in New York City this afternoon. As an exasperated crew member was overheard complaining, "They might as well call it Paparazzi and 'Tweens, 'cause there's more of us than them!" It was a fair statement considering how the crowd had swelled substantially (a rough estimate of 200) outside of NYU's Silver Center of Arts & Science, after fans had texted and called their friends to get to downtown Manhattan, like, omigod, right now!

The scene in question was of Pattinson (wearing a plaid shirt and donning those now-trademark sunglasses between takes) walking down the street while talking to a friend, smoking a cigarette, and holding a cup of coffee (he's versatile!). During one scene, the actor who plays Pattinson's friend mockingly yelled, "Have a good day, sweetheart!" as he walked away.

Oh, how the hundreds of girls who lined Washington Square Park would have loved to yell that to the Twilight star -- though the couple of "I love you Robert!"s and "I love you Edward!"s that squeaked in will inevitably make for some tough sound editing. Members of the mostly young, female crowd, some of whom had skipped school and arrived at the scene as early as 9 a.m. to watch their beloved Pattinson, said they had been tipped off by onlocationvacations.com. While the crowd mostly kept calm during filming, once the movie broke for lunch, a flood of girls chased Pattinson as he was escorted to his next location. So will this wreak havoc on Remember Me's fliming or will the cast and crew simply have to up the security/location ante?

R-Patts First Day of Shooting on New Movie

Around 8:30 a.m. today, Robert Pattinson, the outrageously attractive star of the Twilight series of films, began shooting his new film Remember Me in downtown Manhattan. And all under the loving gaze of a platoon of photographers and dozens of adoring female fans from nearby New York University.

Before the throng of admirers showed up, Robert, dressed in a flannel shirt over a cotton white tee, jeans, black sneakers and carrying a black backpack, Rob ate breakfast outside with some of the cast during morning walkthroughs. "He was breakdancing and joking around," one R-Patts spotter tells OK!. "When lots of people did show up, Rob tried to act unfazed, standing behind some extras and laughing with his male co-stars and a few extras."

The sheer number of looky-loos has made shooting the film difficult for the small crew. "The PAs [Production Assistants] are having trouble moving people out of the shot," one source explains to OK!.

In the scene being shot this morning, Rob walks with a male friend around the corner of a building talking while carrying a coffee and chewing on a straw, which he had been doing during most of the morning.

"The scene is about two friends who are talking about everyday life," one production source reveals to OK!. "It's a romantic drama. Filming's going great so far. Robert's really at ease. He's handling it all really well."
