well they can sorta cry. Just tearlessly. But when Bella is a vamp in BD, she mentions feeling a weird sensation in her eyes, and then Nessie shows her that she's crying. So maybe that would make the eyes red?

i suppose... but i really doubt that they thought of that.... its probably just them messing up again and not understanding the series. but oh well... if they HAVE to make a mistake i guess thats a small one to make.

^ Yeah you're probably right, there. I think it was an inconsistency on their part, an oversight, but luckily it can KINDA be explained. But if thats all they get wrong in Volterra, I'll be thanking my lucky stars!!

I don't think it's wrong. It's just a trick they do in the movie to see how desperate and broken Edward is. You wouldn't believe it if he would look like in Twilight with the good make up. That wouldn't be so heartbreaking and touching

either way, its still wrong. but you have a point i guess.

Like the kiss that doesn't happen in the books but it does in the movie.

^^ yeah but the kiss is different. its physically possible. but stephenie makes it CLEAR that vampires cant like for real cry.

Yeah cousin does have a point. I see why its important, Lazzy, but still it is something that couldn't happen in the fictional world SM created.

Besides I don't think he was/is crying. Maybe they had an extra pair of lenses and since Kristen is playing a human and humans don't have red eyes (as far as I know), they tried the lenses on Rob.

What couldn't happen? Red eyes or crying? As I said it doesn't mean he was crying if he has red eyes.

And why he has red eyes, as I said he's emotionally destroyed. he has to change also outside, to be different otherway it's not believable. For the movie it's totally ok. That's how they work like. It's also the same why girls has make up when they sleep? Or why their hairstyle is so good after waking up? :lol those are things that is ok in movies.

I meant the crying wasn't possible in the books, Lazzy. And neither really is red eyes - well not in THAT way. Red to reflect human blood, yes. But red because his eyes are irritated, or tired or emotionally distraught etc, isn't really possible because they don't get tired and stuff. Then again, like Aoi pointed out, vampires as SM wrote couldn't realistically do ANYTHING anyways, so this is all a moot point.
